The planner has loved Monster High since it first came out and dreamed of one day making a Monster High statue. We really admired the doll-like design and the way each toy incorporated the features of each monster. I think we ultimately did a great job creating a statue that is quintessentially BISHOUJO yet unmistakably Draculaura.

The original toy had such a cute outfit, so I worked closely with the modeler to figure out how to make what looked good on the doll, look good as a statue. It was quite the challenge getting the organdy-like see through material on the sleeves and the net-like material of the skirt to look just right on the figure. I also want everyone to check out the cute accessories we made, because I think we did a great job on them as well.

Kotobukiya's BISHOUJO series celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2024! It's rare for a figure series to continue for this long, so we have to say a huge thank you to the main artist Shunya Yamashita and all the fans who have supported the series. The series has always been about putting a Japanese spin on characters, and in these last 15 years, the culture surrounding Japanese figures and the figure industry as a whole has changed immensely. But our hope that BISHOUJO figures will give fans a chance to learn about new series and see new sides to their favorite characters remains the same. Please, keep up the amazing support!
